Krone Altstetten

The cozy restaurant with a walk-in wine cellar is a real gem in the heart of Zurich’s Altstetten quarter. Wood-paneled walls, a tiled stove, white tablecloths, and discreet décor: as soon as you enter the Krone Altstetten, you immediately feel at home.

New specialties are offered depending on the season. One particular favorite and a permanent feature on the menu is the “Züri im Pfännli” (Zürcher Geschnetzeltes). They can also visit the generously stocked cellar to pick out the perfect wine to go with their food.

However, the Krone Altstetten is also a special place in other respects: as a locale run by the Stiftung Arbeitskette (Work Chain Foundation), it offers mentally impaired people professionally supervised workplaces and helps them to establish themselves in the working world.
