Saftlade – Organic Fast Food in the Heart of the Old Town

The Saftlade is the oldest juice bar in Switzerland. The store, which is just 20 square meters (215 sq.ft) in size, sets great store by organic products. Flavor enhancers and sugar are taboo here; everything is freshly made using untreated ingredients supplied by a regional organic farm.

Known for its freshly pressed juices, the Saftlade certainly lives up to its name. For hungry guests in search of more solid sustenance, upstairs seasonal salads are prepared, soups cooked, sweet treats baked, and sandwiches compiled. In an effort to avoid food waste, as much of each product is used as possible.

The tiny corner shop in the Old Town can hardly be missed due to its bright yellow exterior. People can often be seen standing in line in front of the store, particularly at lunchtime. However, that should not put you off – for it is definitely well worth the wait.
