Bruderhaus Wildlife Park

The Bruderhaus Wildlife Park is located to the south of Winterthur, and is set amidst a secluded forest in a somewhat elevated location on the Eschenberg.

The park was built in 1890 and since then has been home to wild animals such as wolves, wild boar, lynxes, fallow deer and European bison. Nowadays there are around 80 animals of nine different species. Besides preserving these species, some of which no longer exist in the wild, the park aims to provide a better understanding of these “wild relatives” of our present-day pets.

The wildlife park is open throughout the year and admission is free of charge. It gives young explorers the opportunity to observe animals – like the 13 wolves in their 12,000 m2 (130,000 sq.ft) enclosure ‒ at close quarters.

Besides a restaurant, there is also a picnic area with benches and fountain, where visitors can enjoy a bite to eat and even barbecue their own food – although they need to provide the firewood themselves. 

How to get there:

The best way to reach the park is by public transport, as the number of parking spaces available is limited.
