Galerie Gmurzynska
The Galerie Gmurzynska, founded by Antonina Gmurzynska in 1965 in Cologne, Germany, is one of the most important art galleries worldwide specializing in classic modern art and Russian avant-garde.
Run by women for three generations, the Galerie Gmurzynska not only takes part in the most important art fairs, but has also published numerous significant art historical catalogues. In addition, Gmurzynska has represented the estate of Yves Klein and also includes works by Juan Miró and Fernand Léger in its program.
Incidentally, the gallery’s location on Paradeplatz is particularly interesting: it is housed in the same block in which the Dada movement presented its first exhibition at the Galerie Dada in 1917. While the gallery no longer exists, the Confiserie Sprüngli is still just around the corner in the same block of buildings.
