Zurich’s “Wienachtsdorf” at Sechseläutenplatz
One of the largest Christmas markets in the city of Zurich is held at Sechseläutenplatz, directly in front of the Opera House.
Just a few steps from Lake Zurich, Zurich’s “Wienachtsdorf” – Christmas village in English – is sure to enchant people of all ages. Some 100 market stalls make up the cozy Bellevue Christmas market in front of the spectacular backdrop of the Opera House, inviting passersby to stroll and chat over a gluhwein.
Design Market and Food
At the market stalls, alternating local designers offer unusual jewelry and other finds, while a diverse range of food options takes care of visitors’ physical wellbeing. From international specialties to classic Swiss dishes in the fondue chalet, it’s all about getting together and enjoying the festive atmosphere – whether it’s for post-work gluhwein, an afternoon out with friends, or a family trip with the kids after the candle making event on Hechtplatz.
