The men’s open-air bathing facility at the historic Schanzengraben is an oasis of peace, despite its location in the heart of the city.

Here guests lie on wooden planks over the water; swimming is easy due to the weak current. As the lido is not very big, it has an intimate and peaceful ambiance, right in the heart of the city yet far removed from its hectic pace. In the evenings, if the weather is fine, it becomes the Rimini Bar and is open to both men and women.

History/Architecture

The Männerbad at Schanzengraben is a timber box bathhouse construction dating from 1864. It is situated in a 17th century moat and is surrounded by the former city walls and the Old Botanical Garden. Even now, it can only be accessed by male guests during the daytime.
