Strauhof (Literature Museum)
The fascinating Strauhof Museum presents literature not only in text form, but also as an accessible, staged space. Exhibitions examine historical and social issues based on topics of current interest. On doing so, both modern-day and classic works and their authors are portrayed in an agile and experimental way. Through out-of-the-ordinary approaches and presentations, as well as various events, the Strauhof aims to arouse people’s interest and enhance their knowledge of and understanding for literature.
The first reference to the Haus zum Strauhof in the center of Zurich’s Old Town harks back to the 16th century. The present-day character of the baroque townhouse dates from 1772 and has essentially remained unchanged to this day.
