Tobogganing on the Hörnli
Anyone prepared to take on a roughly 1.5-hour walk is rewarded with a wonderful 4.5 kilometers (2.7 miles) of tobogganing fun.
Route
The start of this toboggan run can only be reached on foot. The roughly 1.5-hour walk begins immediately next to Steg train station in the municipality of Fischenthal. After arriving at the Berggasthaus Hörnli, sporty tobogganers fortify themselves with a fondue before embarking on the initially very steep first few feet of the otherwise gentle slope. The route soon becomes more winding and picks up speed, so small children should be accompanied here by their parents.
Toboggan Hire
Toboggans can be hired at the Berggasthaus Hörnli for CHF 8 (adults) or CHF 5 (children), and returned to Steg railway station.
