The Zentralbibliothek Zurich is one of the largest libraries in Switzerland with over 6 million different media and half a million visitors each year. It contains scientific literature as well as travel guides, novels and guidebooks. It is also a source of documentation and archive of Zurich publications. As one of the city’s oldest cultural institutions, the library is home to numerous historical items that date back to the Middle Ages.
The Zentralbibliothek is also a museum that tells the history of Zurich: temporary exhibitions present various treasures to a diverse audience.
