Museum of the Swiss Charters of Confederation
This museum houses an impressive collection of original documents and information exploring the history of the Old Swiss Confederacy.
Who was the Swiss national hero, William Tell, and what was so special about him? And is the famous Federal Charter of 1291 really the founding document of the Swiss Confederation?
The Museum of the Swiss Charters in Schwyz sets out to answer these and other questions in an easily understandable way. Visitors can explore Switzerland’s history step by step, immerse themselves in myths and traditions, and inspect ancient documents.
Private groups and school classes can also take advantage of special workshops, which are available by prior arrangement.
