Blatterwiese

A walk along the lakeside promenade from the Opera House toward Zürichhorn leads to Blatterwiese in about 20 minutes. Often referred to as "Chinawiese" because of the neighboring Chinese Garden, it is one of Zurich's favorite places to spend a sunny day by the lake. Families and groups of friends gather for picnics and barbecues, play Frisbee or soccer, or set up a slackline between the trees. On warm summer days, a refreshing swim in the lake is a must, while the kiosk serves ice cream and cold drinks.

Families especially enjoy the fenced playground with its large sand area, climbing wall, swings, and water fountains that provide extra fun on hot days.
