«Der ungezähmte Horizont» by Yves Netzhammer

In 2024 the famous Swiss artist Yves Netzhammer installed his imposing sculpture “Der ungezähmte Horizont” Untamed Horizon on the roof of a high-rise building. The black horse is standing dangerously close to the edge of the roof, sometimes rearing up with coiled muscles, sometimes moving its head or stamping with its hooves and then again poised with quiet strength.
What is this? The sculpture is reminiscent of the times when horses were the main means of transportation and creates a connection to modern times and urban mobility. The sculpture is part of the city’s Art and Construction Project and was commissioned by the city of Zurich.
