Bronze City Model on Stadthausquai
Thanks to this model, both visually impaired and sighted people can walk through downtown Zurich – with their fingertips.
The tactile bronze city model stands in a prominent location on Stadthausquai. Surrounded by Zurich’s most famous attractions, the model invites visitors to discover these highlights, as well as Zurich’s city center, in a new way. Sighted and visually impaired people, as well as children, passers-by, and tourists can walk with their fingers through Zurich’s narrow, winding streets and feel the difference in the size of the buildings. In addition, the model, which is on a scale of 1:750, provides explanations of buildings, streets, and squares in Braille.
The city model is a donation of the Lions Club Zürich-Turicum to the City of Zurich.
