Cross-Country Skiing on the Bachtel
On the Bachtel in the Zürcher Oberland, several cross-country trails invite winter sports enthusiasts to engage in some sporting activity.

The Bachtel is the home mountain of the Zürich Oberland region, and is easily reached from Gibswil train station. The cross-country ski trails are ideal for families.
Panorama Cross-Country Ski Trail
This panoramic trail stretches over a distance of 12 km (7.4 miles) and is only suitable for the classic style of skiing.
A total of 25 km (15 miles) are groomed for classic cross-country skiing and 19 km (12 miles) for those using the free technique. In good conditions, an 9 km (5.6 mile) long loop around the Bachtel is also open at weekends.
Special Remarks
A heated “soup wagon” welcomes cold and hungry guests next to Amslen Sports Centre, where a 4 km (2.5 mile) long night trail can also be found.
